Star Wars : The Black Series | Rogue One
When Pilot was tapped to start on Rogue One(not all the characters are from Rogue One of course, there are quite a few from the other films), we were still neck deep in Episode 7, and furiously trying to keep the pace. Everyone was super excited, but nervous, and a little frazzled from the last year of craziness. We pitched a new style for black series again, which to be honest all came out of a happy accident. Revisions were being made to a Han Solo, and his face had been done twice, to take a little aging out of his features. The layers formed a transparency which made a beautiful grey tone that just brought his likeness to life. So I sent screen shot up the chain. Huge changes from tiny little moves. This change added almost a full day to each of the pieces, so there was ALOT of schedule finagling as I struggled through the development of the first few. The first ten or so were kind of a mess.(as you move through the page you'll see some pieces that don't quite match the others). In the end the grey tones made for quite a few messy pieces in the beginning, and hopefully by the end a few successful ones as well. I'm still getting the hang of it now almost two movies later, but these were the beginning of something i hope will be much greater.
